RE at Brimsdown

Religious Education

At Brimsdown, we follow Discovery RE which is an enquiry-based scheme for 3-11 year olds.  The scheme fosters our growth mindset principles and enables the children to become ‘critical thinkers’.  Throughout all the enquiries, we create rich learning experiences that challenge and broaden the children’s knowledge, skills and attitudes.  We also celebrate the cultural diversity in our school and celebrate differences.  We explicitly teach children the related vocabulary so they can articulate their ideas and opinions confidently.  We ensure children partake in visits to places of worship to experience awe and wonder and their appreciation of stillness and silence.  As we want to have a curriculum that reflects our community we have added bespoke units to ensure the religions of the school are taught.
