What to Bring and Not Bring
to your Exam
Items to bring to your Exam at Irvine HS
Please come prepared: Morning exam check-in is 7:30 am Afternoon Exam check-in is 12:30.
Late arrivals will not be admitted to the exam and there are No Make ups and NO REFUNDS.
In a clear gallon sized Ziplock bag: No pencil cases allowed.
Your Sheet of AP ID barcode labels. You will be getting this on the day of your first exam at Irvine HS.
QTY 2 - No. 2 sharpened pencils for the multiple choice questions. No Mechanical pencils allowed.
Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.
An acceptable calculator if your AP Exam allows the use of a calculator.
ID card (current school ID or Driver’s licence or other government issued ID)
Eraser with casing removed (optional)
In a Second Clear Ziplock bag:
Snack that is easily eaten during a 10 minute break. No food or drinks are allowed in the testing rooms. Snacks will be in a separate room and available at break time.
ALL other Items brought to the exam will be locked in a separate room during the test and will not be accessed until the exam is over, including cell phones and keys
Items Not to Bring to your exam at Irvine High School
Electronic equipment including phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, wearable technology, cameras, recording or listening devices, or any other type of electronic or communication device.
Books, reference guides, notes, compasses, protractors, mechanical pencils, pencils that are not No. 2, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or colored pencils.
Scratch paper: Students testing in-school are prohibited from bringing scratch paper to the AP Exam, but scratch paper will be provided.
Watches of any type
Computers or calculators that are not approved.
Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.
Ear plugs.
Clothing or shoes with subject-related information.
Clipboards
Food and Drink: any snacks brought will be stored in a separate room.
NOTE: Backpacks will be kept in a separate room during testing. Cell phones must be POWERED OFF, not just silenced and kept in a backpack.
