Students should continue to practice the skills from Kindergarten and First Grade, at the Second Grade level. While they will complete many of the same skills, there will be additional ones added and they will be completed independently. It is important that teachers still take the time to go over the student answers with the class to ensure they are exposed to the correct answers. Although this can be implemented in a variety of ways, there is a template included that can be used, and is an EduProtocol strategy called Math Reps.
Math Rep Example
Below is the link for the Math Rep example that can be used, and you will need to make a copy when you open the link. You will then be able to go in and add your own concepts and skills, edit the ones there, or use it as it is. As with previous grades, this is meant for repetition and exposure, not mastery.

Mystery Numbers
Click here to find a list of possible clues you can give for mystery numbers. You can post them on the board for students to figure out! You will have to make a copy when you open it, but then you can make changes and additions.
Reference Sheet
Click here to open a reference sheet that you can print and copy for all of your students. It includes the words they would need to spell for the Math Rep sheet included above for calendar math activities. The months and number words are spelled out, as well as how they should be drawing their money. This should eliminate excuses that students have for misspelling words, and help them complete problems with precision. As with the other documents, you will need to make a copy when opening it. This will allow you to add to the sheet if needed.
