My LHSI Experience

Hello, my name is Valerie. I am a sophomore Psychology Major and Dance Minor. I am 25 years old, which I understand is not typical for a sophomore in college. I wanted to wait until I was ready and knew what I wanted to do, but I also had a lot of mental health issues to unpack. After years of struggling with my mental health and trying to figure out my purpose in life, my experiences with therapy and mental hospitals made me realize my true passion for psychology. Receiving proper care and diagnosis changed my life for the better. I want to continue learning and growing in college so that I can use my degree to help others who struggle with mental health issues.
