Student Ambassadors
Interactive campus workshops
Public relations serve a great purpose to reach a desired target market. It builds credibility and promotes good interventions (Berkowitz, 2022). To effectively promote Health and Wellness Coaching at IU Indianapolis and achieve the objectives in this program, implementing public relations such as workshops and having student ambassadors will help immensely in order to increase awareness and student engagement leading to enrollment.
Incorporating credibility into the program is necessary for students’ awareness. By having student ambassadors who have been previously enrolled and succeeded in the coaching program, host an event/panel, it creates an opportunity of credibility. These student ambassadors would share personal testimonials about their own transformations. They would address the many challenges they faced and overcame through the program, as well as how the tools and resources offered on campus made life in college easier for them. If the student is able to relate to the student ambassadors in the panel, it has a significant impact on the testimonial or message the speaker is trying to convey (Berkowitz, 2022, pg. 547). This would allow students to feel connected to the experiences and acknowledge just how beneficial the coaching program is.
Promoting good interventions by having interactive activities that include hands-on workshops will help with the engagement of students. This would consist of demonstrating how coaching works by launching workshops for physical activity, healthy eating presentations, and having mindfulness sessions. All of which incorporate the focal aspects of the Health and Wellness Coaching. With these workshops, students will have the opportunity to sample what the program offers and be able to directly engage with coaches. The coaches will be able to provide additional information about the program if necessary. Finding the best times to promote these workshops can be vital when reaching the desired target market. For example, midterm week and finals week would be a great way to infiltrate this approach towards health and wellness coaching since students’ overall well-being may be the most vulnerable during those times.
