Call for Proposals - Submit by December 15

As a past participant, we extend to you a special invitation to submit a proposal to present at USI's 7th Celebration of Teaching & Learning Symposium. We welcome presentations, demonstrations, and conversations on improving and transforming student learning, academic success, and curriculum in higher education.

The Symposium provides opportunities to share your Teaching Practice and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) efforts as Lightning or Standard Presentations. Please visit the Symposium webpage to learn more and view updates.

Key Dates

  • December 15: Proposals/abstracts due by 11:59 pm local time

  • December 15: Registration opens (free)

  • January 11: Notification of proposal reviews

Benefits include the opportunity to engage in conversations related to your work, make your teaching efforts visible, and initiate or strengthen connections. Presenters can choose to include their peer-reviewed abstracts in USI's Scholarly Open Access Repository (SOAR), which is indexed in Google Scholar, providing additional visibility and dissemination of their work.

2023 Provost's Faculty Summit

Call for Proposals – Ball State University’s 2023 Provost’s Faculty Summit

Ball State University's Division of Online and Strategic Learning, Office of Inclusive Excellence, and Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs are pleased to announce the 2023 Provost Faculty Summit: Equitable, Inclusive, and Innovative Practices taking place virtually February 23 and 24, 2023. Our keynote speaker is Mays Imad, co-author of Norton Guide to Equity Minded Teaching to be released in December 2022. Based on her research in the areas of stress, self-awareness, advocacy, and classroom community and the impact on student learning and success, Dr. Imad will speak to equity-minded teaching in her address.

The program committee is accepting abstracts for individual paper presentations and panel sessions that center on inclusive pedagogy, innovative practices and technologies, equity-minded teaching, and High Impact Practices.

EC Moore Symposium

2023 E.C. Moore Symposium Call for Proposals Due Dec. 5, 2022

The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning seeks proposals from instructors teaching at higher education institutions across Indiana for the 2023 E.C. Moore Symposium on Excellence in Teaching. A key component of the symposium is the communication and sharing of new ideas in teaching and learning that promote engaging, inclusive, and equitable student learning experiences and student success. We invite proposals for three types of sessions — interactive presentations, TED-like talks, and Show and Tell sessions — showcasing your latest endeavors in teaching.

The 2023 E.C. Moore Symposium will be held on Friday, March 24, 9 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the IUPUI Campus Center. This year’s symposium is sponsored by the IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning, LEAP Indiana, IUSM Faculty Affairs | Professional Development | Diversity (FAPDD), and Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET).

We invite you to submit a proposal for the 2023 Midwest SoTL Conference, an affordable, one-day conference to be held March 31, 2023 in person at Indiana University South Bend. Our conference theme is Refocusing Our Attention and our keynote speaker will be James M. Lang, author of Distracted: Why Students Can’t Focus and What You Can Do About It. We are accepting proposals that describe empirical studies of SoTL, theoretical discussions of SoTL, descriptions of best practice of teaching, and interactive workshops on implementing best practice. Proposals are due by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. (There will be a later call for 5-minute Quick Hits and Twitter conference presentations.)
