Throughout my time at IU Indianapolis, I have actively sought opportunities to engage on campus and take on experiences that contribute to my personal and professional growth. My involvement has played a crucial role in shaping my career path, allowing me to secure scholarships, internships, and valuable networking opportunities. Through these experiences, I have built a strong professional network and developed a growth mindset that continues to drive my ambitions. I am committed to continuously seeking new opportunities to connect with others, refine my skills, and expand my expertise in event tourism management.
As a recipient of the Bonner Scholarship, I have engaged in extensive community service, leadership development, and social justice initiatives through the Bonner Foundation. This program has provided opportunities to serve various communities and develop a deeper understanding of social issues. I have organized and participated in service events such as blanket-making for children and volunteered at multiple nonprofit organizations, including Horizon House, a homeless shelter, and Paws Pantry, the on-campus food pantry, where I served as a Lead Volunteer. Through this program, I have enhanced my leadership, teamwork, and community engagement skills while building a strong professional network.
The Norman Brown Leadership Program emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and social justice education. Through this scholarship, I have participated in cultural and social justice events, attended discussions on political and justice issues affecting students from diverse backgrounds, and engaged in leadership development opportunities. This program has allowed me to cultivate a growth mindset, strengthen my ability to navigate multicultural environments, and expand my professional network.
Being part of the IU Indianapolis Rowing Team was a pivotal step in my campus involvement. This experience instilled discipline, mental resilience, and teamwork while allowing me to build my professional network. I contributed to team workouts, honed my leadership skills, and developed a strong sense of commitment and perseverance.
As a member of the Interfraternity Council, I played a key role in fostering collaboration among Greek organizations and implementing campus-wide initiatives. I assisted in organizing the annual Walk a Mile event, which raises awareness about sexual assault prevention, and facilitated presentations connecting Greek life members with campus resources. Additionally, I coordinated community service events, including writing holiday cards for children at Riley Hospital, and helped organize FSL Field Day, an event that encouraged networking among fraternity and sorority members through team-building activities.
Fundraising Chairman (January 2024 – December 2024)
Philanthropy Chairman (January 2025 – Present)
Tau Kappa Epsilon is a fraternity dedicated to leadership, service, and philanthropy under the mission of "Better Men for a Better World." As Fundraising Chairman, I spearheaded multiple fundraising initiatives, including:
Pumpkin Pummel: A charity event where donated pumpkins were smashed to raise funds.
Pop-Up Thrift Shop: A clothing donation drive that turned into a fundraising opportunity.
Taylor Swift Eras Night: A themed event where proceeds supported philanthropic causes.
Now serving as Philanthropy Chairman, I have taken on a greater leadership role in executing large-scale events such as Miles for Memphis, our annual 36-hour charity bike event. This event raises funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, symbolizing the distance between our campus and the hospital headquarters in Memphis, TN. Through this role, I am deepening my knowledge of philanthropy, event planning, and community engagement while making a lasting impact on campus and beyond.
