The International Center for Intercultural Communication and English for Academic Purposes programs within the School of Liberal Arts received a Department of State grant in 2019 to administer a two-week program for 23 international teachers and administrators of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The program engaged participants in workshop sessions and site visits surrounding multiple themes, including the topic of service learning in the teaching of English. Our poster will offer an example of how government funding can be used to nurture partnerships between IUPUI and local service organizations, while advocating for increased civic engagement across the world.
