As part of an advanced graduate elective course within the School of Health and Human Sciences, 18 students offered consultative services to the Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit at Riley Children’s Hospital utilizing the Community Engagement (CE) Components Practical Model (Ahmed, Young, DeFino, Franco & Nelson, 2017). Students, academic instructors, and the Pediatric Behavioral Health Unit director applied the CE Components Practical Model in order to conceptu- alize professional advocacy, further analyze service provider delivery, and identify areas of community engaged research.
