Free Live Captioning
For free live closed captioning of sound from a phone call, video, video conference, or a person speaking, you can use a free automatic live captioning app on your smartphone, tablet, or other device for captioning.
- Apple users can download "Live Caption" for free. Google Play/Android users can download "TextHear Personal Hearing Aid" for free ("Live Caption" is not free on the Google Play platform). Both work the same, but each is free on different platforms.
- Select the microphone icon.
- Hold the microphone up to the speaker or the location of the sound.
- The audio/sound will automatically be transcribed into text.
