"Managing the Grey:
Balancing Counselling and Safeguarding in Schools"
Nov 28, 2024; Thursday; 8:00am-3:00pm at ISPP Secondary Library
As a counsellor, balancing a dual role in safeguarding can be incredibly challenging. There is often pressure for the safeguarding role to overshadow or exploit the counselling relationship.
In this pre-conference training, we will delve into complex case studies where situations and actions aren't clear-cut. We will carefully examine these scenarios to highlight the intricacies and challenges involved.
Our goal is to equip you with the tools to navigate these grey areas while keeping decisions child-centered and maintaining the integrity of both roles. Join us to enhance your skills and ensure your actions remain focused on the best interests of the child.
Practical support for exploring how to navigate issues that might be Safeguarding concerns within Counselling sessions and when Counsellors also have a Safeguarding role in their school.
