Course Description
Are you ready to discover the artistic soul and cultural energy of Spain’s capital while engaging in meaningful service and creative expression? Join us for a 6-day journey through Madrid that combines art, history, physical activity, and community engagement. From world-renowned museums to collaborative social projects, this experience is designed to broaden perspectives and inspire students to become active global citizens while fulfilling the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) requirements of the IB program.
The Challenge
Students will step beyond their comfort zones as they collaborate with peers, engage with local organizations, and express themselves creatively. Whether supporting social initiatives, interpreting powerful works of art, or navigating the city by bike, participants will strengthen adaptability, communication, and critical thinking skills.
This experience counts towards MYP Service as Action and the Creativity and Service strand of DP CAS.

Personal and cultural expression: Examine how art, dance, cuisine, and architecture reflect Spain’s identity and evolving culture.

The student trip described aligns with ISP's mission to inspire, engage, and empower learners to be curious, competent, compassionate changemakers. By immersing themselves in the Spanish language and culture, students will be inspired to explore new horizons and broaden their perspectives. They will develop competence in language skills, culinary skills, and sports, as well as historical and architectural knowledge. The trip will also foster compassion and empathy for different cultures, as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills. Ultimately, this trip will empower students to become changemakers in their communities, applying the skills and knowledge they have gained to make a positive impact on the world.
