His close friend Mary-Ann Rojales Javier Whitwell '76 writes of Noriel:
Noriel was a good friend. He was devoted to his family in the US and back in the Philippines. He loved his two kids and left behind many, many friends. He cherished the friendships and connections he shared with his classmates through the many reunions and get togethers over decades. He was the catalyst that enabled me to seek out and join our wonderful Puget Sound branch of our common bond of IS Manila. For that I will always be grateful. RIP, my friend. Know that you will be sorely missed not just here, but worldwide.
