Welcome, ISSEA Schools, to the 2025 ISSEA Track & Field and Cross Country Championships hosted by the International School of Kenya. Three days, two different venues, 17 events, one ISSEA Spirit. Karibu Kenya!!
Karibu!
We are excited to welcome you to the International School of Kenya as we host this year's ISSEA Track & Field and Cross Country Championships. It is both an honor and a privilege to bring together such talented young athletes, dedicated coaches, and supportive families from across Southern and Eastern Africa for this exceptional event.
As these young athletes take to the track today, they compete in a country synonymous with running excellence. Kenya has produced countless Olympic medalists and record-breakers, and while our students are early in their athletic journeys, they share that same spirit of dedication and perseverance. This setting provides the perfect backdrop for them to write their own sporting stories.
ISSEA is far more than competition—it's a celebration of sportsmanship and community. While pursuing medals and personal bests, students and coaches forge friendships across borders that often become their most cherished memories from these championships.
Representing your school at an ISSEA championship is a significant honor and a moment of pride. It reflects not only your athletic ability but also your dedication, character, and commitment to your school community. We hope each of you embraces this experience fully—compete with passion, support your teammates with enthusiasm, and carry the spirit of ISSEA with you long after the final race.
Best of luck to all of our athletes and coaches!

Dear Athletes, Coaches, and Guests,
It is our pleasure to welcome you all to ISK for the 2025 ISSEA Track and Field Championships! We are thrilled to host this exciting event and to open our campus to such a vibrant community of student-athletes, coaches, and supporters from across the region.
ISSEA Track and Field represents more than just competition - it embodies the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and respect that unites our schools. Over the next few days, you will have the opportunity to push your limits, celebrate one another’s successes, and experience the true joy of your sport.
At ISK, we are guided by our Big Five, and these qualities are reflected in track and field. As athletes, you collaborate with your teammates, support one another, and build lasting friendships. You demonstrate self-management through discipline, focus, and resilience. You communicate with clarity and respect—both in moments of triumph and challenge. As thinkers, you strategize, adapt, and continually learn. And as change-makers, you inspire others through your dedication, sportsmanship, and passion for excellence.
We encourage each of you to give your very best, strive for personal growth, cheer for others, and create memories that will last long after the final race is run.
On behalf of the entire ISK community, I wish you a fantastic meet filled with great performances, friendship, and fun. Welcome to Nairobi, welcome to ISK, and welcome to ISSEA Track and Field 2025!
Warmly,
Ruth Jones
HS Principal
Dear ISSEA Athletes, Coaches, and Supporters,
On behalf of the International School of Kenya, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Nairobi for the ISSEA Track and Field Championships. We are honored to host this event and to share in the excitement, spirit, and community that define ISSEA.
Kenya has a deep and proud tradition in track and field—home to some of the world’s most accomplished runners who have inspired generations with their endurance, determination, and grace. The hills, trails, and open spaces of our country have long been a training ground not only for athletic excellence but also for character and perseverance. It is in this spirit that we welcome you to compete, learn, and grow together.
ISSEA Track and Field embodies the very best of international school athletics: teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of personal and collective growth. Whether you achieve a personal best, support a teammate, or simply push through a difficult moment, each experience on the track is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and others.
As you take part in these competitions, I encourage you to embrace every moment—the challenge of the race, the camaraderie with fellow athletes, and the joy of representing your school. Remember that true success lies not only in the medals earned but in the resilience, respect, and relationships you build along the way.
Karibuni — Welcome!
