>> Product C

The product, which has a double functionality, is the result of an intense research aimed at analyzing furnitures from the peasant house in pre-industrial era in regions of central-northern Italy.

The project "Product C" it's based on a survey about the peasant culture, through the analysis of furnitures and tools that characterized it. the research has resulted in the design of a demonstrative product. Product C arises as a reinterpretation of that culture, in order to revaluate crafts and promote a more ethical production system. The letter "C" comes from the common initial of five key words that represent the project: chest, coffee table, container, farmer, Cicno (the latter is the brand "made in Liguria", which was involved in the design of the artifact). In particular, my project focused on three key concepts taken from the peasant culture: functionality (and multifunctionality) furniture, reusability and reduction of waste through the enhancement of craftsmanship. Therefore, starting from the traditional chest, I developed an artifact that could embody its archetypal characteristics: contain, support, sit. The result is an object that, semiotically speaking, is defined as an actor with multiple roles. The use of it depends on the configuration that the user sets. As seen in the photo, it can be used as a seat or as a support of furnishings.
