A new kind of Pharmacy for a place countryside close to Terragona (Spain).
This pharmacy is located in the municipality of Deltebre. The request was to enlarge the space of the shop, taking advantage of the adjacent premises, in order to create a more functional space. I therefore used the columns to create an L-shaped wall and thus obtain a large sales room and several useful rooms for the staff: a warehouse, a manager's office, a multipurpose room and a laboratory. The position of the warehouse is functional for unloading goods. One of the problems I encountered was that there were no windows on one side, so I placed opaque internal windows in the office and the multi-purpose room so that the light coming in through the window would not be seen but would pass through. In addition, I did not include a room for the night shift pharmacist, but placed a sofa bed in the multi-purpose room. This way the pharmacist does not rest in a small, claustrophobic room and is very close to the window for night duty. The protagonist of the whole project is the parametric wood, with which I made the furniture that has a shape in connection with the landscape of the place.Â
