SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR IB STUDENTS
Congratulations to our International Baccalaureate students at American School Dhahran and ISG Jubail on the release of their IB Diploma Programme results.
This milestone reflects years of hard work, perseverance and the support of dedicated families and educators. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to sharing more about this year's results and celebrating their achievements with our community in August. Congratulate our students when you see them.
BUILDING ONE BSD COMMUNITY
This coming school year marks an exciting new chapter as British School Dhahran and Sara Village School come together as one school under the leadership of Principal Simon Fowler. As part of this transition, Sara Village School will become British School Dhahran, Sara Village Campus, proudly sharing the BSD name and visual identity while continuing to provide the exceptional care and learning environment that families value.
Bringing our two British campuses together allows us to align our systems, procedures and educational practices, creating a more cohesive experience for students, families and staff. It also positions us well as we prepare for our British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection next year, ensuring that we continue to strengthen the quality and consistency of our learning across both campuses.
While our name and structure are evolving, our commitment remains the same: providing every student with an outstanding education in a supportive, connected community. I look forward to seeing the many opportunities this unified approach will create for our students, our educators and our families.
ISG COMMUNITY
PTG ACTIVITIES AND APPRECIATION
At ISG, we value our community and the way our parents generously invest in our schools. Our Parent Teacher Groups (PTGs) are partners in creating the welcoming, connected and joyful experiences that make each of our schools feel like home.
This year, they have brought our community together through celebrations like International Day, winter carnivals, Ramadan events, bake sales, teacher appreciation events and so many other special moments. Behind each of these experiences are parents who have given their time, talents and hearts to strengthen our community and support our students and staff.
To every PTG volunteer, thank you. Your partnership, encouragement and unwavering commitment remind us that the very best school experiences are built when families and educators work together. We are incredibly grateful for all you do and for the positive impact you have on our students, our staff and one another.
CAMPUS COUNCIL APPRECIATION
Strong schools are built on strong partnerships, and our Campus Councils, on each campus, play an important role in ensuring that families have a meaningful voice in the life of our schools. Through thoughtful dialogue, shared perspectives and a genuine commitment to student success, Campus Council members strengthen the connection between our school leadership and the communities we serve, all in the best interest of students.
Throughout the year, our Parent Councils have worked alongside principals to provide valuable feedback, celebrate successes and thoughtfully discuss opportunities for continued growth. I am grateful for the time, care and insight each member brings to these conversations. Your willingness to listen, ask thoughtful questions and partner with us reflects the collaborative spirit that makes ISG such a special place to learn and grow.
FACILITIES SUMMER IMPROVEMENT UPDATE
As we end each school year, we plan for projects on each campus over the summer break for improvements, repairs, renovations, maintenance and enhancements in facilities to support learning and infrastructure. These projects are scheduled in the summer when students and staff are not on campus.
This summer was no exception. Some of the projects this year include: resurfacing of tracks and play areas; extended shading for outdoor spaces; HVAC replacement, repairs, and maintenance; sports field and facilities replacement and upgrades; painting, ongoing maintenance and deep cleaning; and equipment replacement and installation.
We will provide a more detailed update with photos in our next community update on July 30, 2026. We look forward to sharing and enjoying these facilities with everyone when we return in August.
2026-27 PARENT ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
ISG’s Parent Engagement Program (PEP) was launched in August 2025 to continue to strengthen the partnership between home and school by providing parents with opportunities to learn, connect and engage in meaningful conversations that support student success and family wellbeing.
Thank you to all ISG parents who participated in the PEP during the 2025–26 school year. We were delighted to have over 500 ISG parents register for workshops led by expert speakers and facilitators. Topics included: Parenting in the Digital Age; Raising Resilient Families; ISG’s Strategic Priorities and other areas that support your child’s learning journey. Thank you to parents as well for providing your feedback before the end of last school year on possible topics for this upcoming school year’s PEP.
Based on your feedback and suggestions, we have adjusted the program format, timing and frequency and are pleased to share the planned PEP Program for 2026-27 that will include two workshops. These are topics that have been identified as areas of interest and growth by parents in our ISG community. Registration links will be shared at a later time.
