PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT (02)

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE
WITH DEEP SADNESS, LOSS OF AN ASD STUDENT
Dear ASD Parents,
It is with profound sadness that I write to share the news of the passing of one of our ASD students, Ahmad Mushahid. Ahmad’s presence will be greatly missed by his teachers, classmates and all who knew him. This is a deeply difficult time for everyone who was fortunate enough to know Ahmad and his family. The sudden and unexpected nature of this loss is especially tragic.
ISG has shared with staff and ASD high school students and has ensured support for these students. In addition, as a school community and district, we are here to support one another. We want to reassure you that our school counselors are available to provide support and guidance to any student or staff member who might need this support. Please encourage your children to reach out to our school counselors if they feel the need to (Ms. Deanne Byrd, Ms. Kim Dibb, Ms. Shawndra Bird, Ms. Sanya Hunt, or Ms. Keywana Stephens).
We are also committed to respecting the privacy of the family, and we ask for your understanding in this matter.
Thank you for your support and for being a source of strength for our community.
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL MESSAGE
PARENT ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM: PARENT PARTNERSHIPS & ISG STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
EVENT RECAP
It was wonderful to see and engage with so many of our parents at yesterday’s session. We are grateful for your participation and the thoughtful conversations that took place. For those who were unable to attend, here is the recording.
This was just one of many sessions we have planned for the year, with our next two sessions taking place virtually on the topics of budget and board nominations. We look forward to your feedback from these next two sessions as well as we are looking forward to hosting our next workshop session in November on partnering on positive and healthy use of technology for student learning.
In addition, leadership is creating ways to follow-up and share feedback to parents from the information shared by parents in the PEP registration process along with the feedback about what excites you, what questions you had and what ideas you had in relation to our strategic priorities. Our partnership is essential to providing the best learning environment for our students, your children!
Last week, we were delighted to welcome new students and parents to their campuses during our New Student Orientation events. These sessions are an important first step in helping families feel connected and confident as they begin their ISG journey.
A special thank you to our Admissions teams, counselors, teachers, school leadership, operations staff and all those who contributed behind the scenes. It takes a great deal of collaboration and organization to ensure our families have a smooth and positive start, and we are grateful for your dedication.
Please watch this video recap of these events here.

DHAHRAN CAMPUS MPS UPDATE
As our community is aware, ISG began a building project for our Multi-purpose Space (MPS) on the Dhahran campus last Spring 2024. I would like to provide an update on the status of the MPS project.
As we began the summer break, our building contractor experienced unexpected challenges that caused a pause in this construction project and limited progress on this building over the summer. We are pleased to report that work has now resumed with a phased approach, and we are working with all parties to complete this project as soon as possible.
We look forward to sharing more details as we move forward on this project, including when our community can begin using this amazing new space, information about the building's official name and plans for our opening celebrations.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to complete this exciting addition to our ISG Dhahran campus.
