MAY 21, 2026
SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE
Dear Parents,
I would like to extend warm wishes to members of our community who are celebrating Eid next week. I hope this holiday and the break provides time to rest, connect with family and friends and enjoy meaningful moments together. We are grateful for the richness and diversity of our ISG community and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.
RECAP OF NEW LEADERS’ VISIT
As we approach the end of our leadership transition week, I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who joined us at ISG in person or connected with us virtually.
I would like to thank our departing leaders for their dedication and support. They facilitated transition activities and ensured our incoming leaders felt welcomed as they met their new colleagues and communities.
My appreciation also goes to our incoming leaders. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and active participation. We truly appreciate you navigating a full week, and for some, challenging time zones, to be with us and dedicate this important time to ISG.
Throughout the week, leaders engaged in meaningful conversations and collaborative work focused on strengthening ISG culture, supporting smooth transitions into new roles to ensure continuity across our schools and reflecting on key priorities and opportunities as we prepare for the 2026–27 school year.
We are excited for the year ahead and grateful for the collective commitment to supporting our students, staff and communities.
BSD STUDENT PARTICIPATES IN THE LONDON MARATHON
Last month, a Year 13 student from BSD participated in the world-famous London Marathon, joining thousands of runners from around the globe in the 26.2-mile race through the streets of London.
Layla, who is graduating this year and currently serves as BSD’s Deputy Head Girl, completed the marathon alongside her father while balancing preparations for her upcoming exams. Reflecting on the experience, Layla shared that participating in the marathon was both challenging and rewarding, particularly as she ran past iconic landmarks throughout the city.
Layla is an active member of the BSD athletics community and has represented the school in volleyball and netball this year. She also competed with Bahrain Rugby Club at the Dubai Sevens. Completing her first full marathon in 5 hours and 40 minutes is a significant accomplishment and reflects her perseverance, discipline and commitment.
We congratulate Layla on this impressive achievement and wish her continued success in her future athletic and academic pursuits.
