PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT (32)

APRIL 16, 2026

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your ongoing engagement as we navigate learning at ISG. I am writing to share that the Board has voted to return to on-campus learning as of Sunday, April 26, 2026.  Please see this message for more details on this learning model.

For your awareness, ISG is sharing our Emergency Response and Drills, including our new Duck-and-Cover drill, as we transition back to on-campus learning.

As shared last week to support a more timely reply to as many individuals as possible, we have created a comprehensive document linked here responding to the trends from our community.

FULL INSTRUCTIONAL DAY ON APRIL 22

Please note that the upcoming student minimum day scheduled on April 22 will be a full instructional day and students will continue to engage in meaningful learning experiences throughout the day.

UPDATE ON EXTERNAL EXAMS

A level Exams and IGCSE

BSD leadership has been in touch with students and families to share updates confirming that when ISG is in on-campus learning, the exams will be held at BSD.  If ISG is not in on-campus learning, an alternate site has been confirmed with further details to be shared with each exam.

AP Exams

ASD and ISG Dammam leadership have been in touch with students and families to share updates confirming that when ISG is in on-campus learning, the exams will be held at their respective school sites. If ISG is not in on-campus learning, an alternate site has been confirmed with further details to be shared closer to the exams.

IB Exams

Following a close review of the current regional circumstances and in coordination with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), a decision has been made to activate the Non-Exam Contingency Measure (NECM) for ASD and ISG Jubail.

In this model, students will not sit for the traditional written examination papers previously scheduled for May. Instead, their final IB Diploma points will be determined using the Non-Exam Route. This is a robust, established assessment model that the IB uses to ensure students are not disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control.

ISG teams shared this information with students and parents last night. Our ISG IB coordinators and counselors will be meeting with students and parents to explain further steps and answer any questions. Please reach out with any questions.

SUPERINTENDENT COMMUNICATIONS MAY BE LANDING IN SPAM

Some families have shared that the superintendent’s recent message may have been directed to their spam or junk folder. Based on our review, we do not see any issues that would typically trigger spam filters; however, individual email providers may occasionally classify messages differently.

If you find the message in your spam or junk folder, please select “not spam” or move it to your inbox. This will help ensure that future communications are delivered correctly.

REMINDER FROM THE SAUDI MINISTRY OF INTERIOR REGARDING POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Ministry has directed that individuals refrain from photographing or broadcasting footage related to missile interceptions or security operations, in order to prevent unnecessary concern and the circulation of inaccurate information. Social media platforms are being monitored accordingly.  We encourage individuals to also not post on social media in ways that could be viewed as disrespectful to the significance of the current situation for individuals and countries in the region.

As a community, we encourage all families and staff to rely on official sources for information and to exercise responsibility and discretion when using social media. Our priority remains the safety of our students, employees and families, and we are grateful for your cooperation and understanding.
