PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT (14)

NOVEMBER 27, 2025

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE

SPECIAL THANKSGIVING MESSAGE

Dear Parents,

As we come to the close of November, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all members of our ISG community who celebrate Thanksgiving. This season offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect and express gratitude, values that resonate across cultures and traditions.

At ISG, we are especially thankful for our students, our dedicated staff, and our supportive families who work together every day to make our schools vibrant, caring and inclusive places to learn. Whether you are marking the holiday or simply enjoying time with loved ones, I hope this week brings moments of rest, connection and appreciation.

Thank you for being an important part of our community.

TUTORING RESOURCES

ISG is committed to supporting every student's academic journey and we understand that families may seek tutoring resources for their child.

ISG wishes to highlight that local labor regulations restrict outside employment beyond ISG for our teachers and ISG’s strong commitment to international child protection standards necessitates that ISG teachers are not in a position to provide private, paid tutoring services to enrolled students.

To support families who wish to seek tutoring for their child,  ISG has compiled this list of tutoring resources based on our awareness of services used in our community for your family to explore.

  • Wyzant - US/UK

  • Preply -  Languages

  • StudyGate - US

  • Tutor - US

  • Revolution Prep - US

  • Varsity Tutors - US

  • Spires - UK

  • Mytutor - UK

  • Tutorhouse - UK

ISG RECRUITMENT IN DECEMBER & JANUARY

As we prepare for the months ahead, I would like to share that I will be traveling in December and January to represent ISG at several international recruiting fairs. These visits are an essential part of our annual hiring cycle, allowing us to connect with talented educators from around the world who are passionate about high-quality learning, professional growth, and serving a diverse, international community.

Recruiting at ISG is a thoughtful and collaborative process. Each year, our principals, central office leaders and HR team work together to identify our staffing needs well in advance of the next school year, ensuring that we continue to hire and bring outstanding teachers and leaders to our schools. We look for educators who not only demonstrate strong instructional expertise, but who also reflect our core values: respect, acceptance, integrity and responsibility and who are eager to contribute to the vibrant learning cultures across our campuses to support our strategic priorities of Wellbeing and Belonging, High Quality Learning and Professional Excellence.

In addition to academic excellence, we consider factors such as alignment with our curriculum frameworks, experience in international settings and a commitment to ongoing professional learning through opportunities like ISG Learns. Recruiting is both strategic and relationship-focused; it is one of the ways we ensure that ISG continues to thrive, grow and offer our students the very best educational experience.

I look forward to meeting exceptional candidates who may soon join our ISG community and contribute to the mission we all share.

LEARNING AT ISG

CLASS SPOTLIGHT ON GRADE 2 & YEAR 3 ACROSS ISG

This week, our spotlight is on Grade 2 and Year 3 across ISG.

Each week, we’re shining a spotlight on learning across ISG by featuring a different grade level from our schools. Through these weekly highlights, we’ll take you inside our classrooms to show how learning comes to life,  from hands-on projects and critical thinking to collaboration and creativity.

Our goal is to celebrate our students’ curiosity and hard work while giving parents a closer look at the value of an ISG education, where every lesson, discussion and experience is designed to inspire growth, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

ISG HOSTS INSPIRING YOUTH FORUM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AMCHAM

The inaugural Youth Forum: Pathways to Success, hosted by the Teaching and Learning Office at American School Dhahran in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Saudi Arabia, brought together aspiring student leaders, early-career professionals and esteemed business mentors for an evening of meaningful connection, insight and inspiration. ISG students from ASD, BSD and ISG Dammam participated alongside peers from neighboring high schools across the Eastern Province.

Designed to bridge the gap between education and industry, the forum aligns with ISG’s mission to inspire innovation and compassionate action. Through small-group mentorship walks and interactive table discussions, students engaged directly with prominent industry leaders across the Kingdom. These powerful conversations empowered students to explore career possibilities, gain real-world insight and begin building the networks that will support their future growth.

The event featured influential voices including James Sindle, U.S. Consul General in Dhahran. Darrell McGraw, Chair of AmCham Saudi Arabia, emphasized the value of mentorship, noting, “The students are amazing… investing in their own careers and futures. For us, as business leaders, to guide them is a great blessing.”

This collaborative initiative between ISG and AmCham reflects a shared commitment to fostering career readiness and expanding authentic learning opportunities for students. It reinforces ISG’s dedication to creating career-connected learning pathways and equipping students to envision bold, purpose-driven futures beyond the classroom.
