PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT (03)

SEPTEMBER 4, 2025

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE

BSD INTERIM PRINCIPAL APPOINTMENT

As Mr. Bolton shared earlier this week, he will be leaving the Kingdom and ISG at the end of October 2025 to return to the UK after 20 years of dedicated service to ISG. Mr. Bolton has been an integral part of our community, and his contributions to BSD and to ISG will be greatly missed. We wish him and his wife well as they spend time together with family and focus on health and healing.

We are fortunate to have an experienced British school leader at Sara Village who will be supporting both SVS and BSD for this school year from September 7.  Mr. Richard Charlesworth, our current SVS Principal, has accepted the role of Interim Principal at BSD. He will serve in this capacity for the remainder of the school year while continuing to provide strong leadership at SVS.

Mr. Bolton had been planning to leave ISG and BSD at the end of this school year, and we began a search last spring for the next BSD principal.  Our search for a permanent BSD principal will continue.  Since we posted this position last May, ISG has received over 200 applicants for this position and we are now reviewing and assessing these applications to narrow down to those who we believe will be the best match for ISG as the next BSD principal.  We will keep everyone informed as the process moves forward.

Please join me in thanking both Mr. Bolton for his many years of leadership and commitment to ISG and Mr. Charlesworth for graciously taking on this important leadership role in service to our schools.

UPCOMING PARENT ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM (PEP) SESSION:

THE ISG BUDGET PROCESS - VIRTUAL

I am pleased to invite you to the next session in our Parent Engagement Program: The ISG Budget Process.

This video presentation will share with parents more information on how ISG is organized legally and financially, insights into how international schools operate, how we determine the priorities for funding for our important educational needs balancing affordability with sustainability, and how ISG develops its annual budget, including allocations for daily operations as well as long-term needs.

This session will be recorded and shared with our ISG community in early October.

A feedback form will be provided to parents to share questions or ideas you may have after watching the recording.  This feedback will be considered by leadership in preparing the initial budget for consideration by the Board as well as shared with the Board for awareness on parent’s interests and insights.

We hope this session continues to build on our partnership with parents in terms of transparency and understanding around the financial resources that support our students’ learning and growth.

BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS

Our back-to-school events at ISG Dammam, ISG Jubail and SVS campuses were a wonderful way to welcome families into the new year.

Parents had the chance to meet teachers, explore the learning spaces where their children spend their day, and connect with one another.

At ISG, we see parents as vital partners in their children’s education, and we truly appreciate their support.

We look forward to more opportunities to come together throughout the year and encourage families to connect with the Parent Teacher Group at each campus to get involved with the community in which your child attends school.

PARENT ENGAGEMENT AT PTG MEETINGS

British School Dhahran, ISG Jubail and Sara Village School held their first Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) meetings this week, marking a strong start to the year.

These meetings provide valuable opportunities for parents to connect with one another, learn more about upcoming events and initiatives and explore ways to get involved through volunteer activities on each campus. Parent partnership is an important part of the ISG experience, and we are grateful for the enthusiasm and support shown by our PTGs.

American School Dhahran will be holding their first meeting next week, and we look forward to seeing many parents there.

UPCOMING UNIVERSITY VISITS

Every year, ISG campuses welcome representatives from universities from around the world. These visits provide opportunities to learn about the programs on each campus, understand the application process and requirements and get a glimpse of campus life.

We’re excited for these visits to begin as early as next week. Information has been sent to all high school and senior students.

You can find information about upcoming visits on the ISG Parent Hub and by clicking here.
