Moving On To MVPs

The Big Dog Challenge winners have completed exploring the feasibility and viability of their ideas. They have completed the necessary research such as: defining the problem, developing a hypotheses, identifying solutions, naming the customer, value proposition, and identifying partners.

The Big Dog Challenge winners are listed below:

  • Increased Recess Time - Ideator: Jen Harmoning. Team: Stacy Spindler, Anna Kunz. District Innovation Coordinator: Christine Glomski.
  • The Alice Training Program – Ideator: Maggie Maine. Team: Mark Kolbinger, Dale Christensen, Tom Ueker. District Innovation Coordinator: Steve Malone.
  • Outdoor Learning Space – Ideator: Missy Olson. Team: Jessica Warzecha, Brenda Holthaus. District Innovation Coordinator: Joe Prom.

The following ideas were identified as “Rollout Ready” and will go directly forward to implementation.

  • Student and Staff Health – Ideator: Josh Ihrke. Another water bottle filling station will be added at the high school next summer.
  • Recycling Bins/Bags Distinction – Ideator: Dustin Weege. Different colored bins for recycling will be utilized throughout the school district beginning with the high school in December.
  • District Wellness – Ideator: Dan Baird. A committee of teachers and administrators met and developed guidelines for teachers who wish to exercise during their prep time. A committee of support staff and administrators is meeting in December to develop similar guidelines.
