Coach Olson

Chris Olson has been coaching high school football in the state of Minnesota for 21 years. Chris started off coaching at Eden Prairie High School from 1995-2003 while working in the private sector as a quality control chemist for Ashland Chemical. While there. Chris coached the sophomore offense as well as the varsity offensive line, linebackers, and running backs. While at Eden Prairie, he coached teams that had a combined record of 102 wins and 8 losses, including making the State Tournament 8 times, winning 4 State Championships, 8 Section Championships, and 7 Lake Conference Championships. This experience led Chris to leave the private sector and began his teaching career at Lake Junior High School in Woodbury, teaching 9th grade Physical Science and coaching the sophomore defense as well as varsity linebackers from 2004-2005. At Woodbury, these teams were section championships during Chris’s first year, advancing to the state semi-finals. After a year off of coaching, Chris assisted at Belle Plaine for one year in 2007, serving as varsity O-line and LB coach. Chris then began teaching 7th grade life science at Century Middle School in Lakeville from 2008-2010, serving as freshmen and sophomore offensive coach, as well as varsity and sophomore O-line coach. While at Lakeville, the team won the section championship in 2009, and was section runners-up in 2010. Currently, Chris is a biology and physical science teacher at Jordan High School, as well as the defensive coordinator of the football team. He has served as special teams coordinator, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator in 6 years at Jordan. Chris has also coached D-line, OLB, ILB, RB, and TE while at Jordan. In 2012, Jordan won the section championship, and were section runners-up in 2016.

Chris has been married to his wife Allison for 15 years, and has 3 children: Libby (12), Audrey (10), and Justin (7). They enjoy camping and traveling throughout the United States during the summers.
