Hello, I'm an Aspen, poplar, or Quaking aspen. I'm a regular ol' tree, but I want to share with you a little bit more about me! Keep on reading to know my age, and height.
The dying Aspen. Prepares to sleep till spring. It will live again. If Haikus' aren't your thing I wrote a Ciquain: Aspen. Grows old, and wise. Shades me from the sunshine. Its strong deep roots make me feel safe. Poplar.
A month ago I made a friend he came over, and wrote down my location, so he wouldn't forget. This is where I am N: 4731.151 S: 09236.129
I have alot of friends deers, humans, sqiurels, and other trees. They're all really nice, and come to visit me be-cause I can't move. I wish I could save them the trouble of going all the way out here just to see me.
How tall am I? I get that question alot some say 30 ft, some say 100, but I'm in the middle I'm 63 ft tall, and one hug arround.
My name is easy to remember, and say but with I told you that wasn't my real name. My real name is "Populus." I'd like to be called ash, so none of you forget my name.
"How old am I?" I get this question a-lot, but I really don't know! It's been awhile since I could remember, but it's always hard to remember your age for any tree. Certainly you can find out my age if you kill me! I know you're a good friend though, and won't. Some people say 15, 24, 34, 49, 100! I want you to guess my age the answer isn't clear, but I know you can figure it out!
"For more about my Illnesses click here." Cough, sneeze all normal signs of a normal illnesses that won't affect you for the rest of your life, but us trees have a-lot of deadly sicknesses that need to be treated fast. Sure a cold will hurt, but a Aspen borer can kill. Here's my encounter with one.

Cold, and dark I lay there over a group of campers. I wake up feeling a little annoinance somewhere on my branch. I look down to see a camper sleeping on me, "Sure that's what woke me up I'm sure of it." I try to go back to sleep, but I start to feel a pain on my branch! "Ow!" I look down to see the camper was gone, but I now saw a little bug. "Nothing threatening." I though, but I was still scared. I asked a squriel to go ensure me that it's harmless. As it got up to me I, I, couldn't take the news how am I got to get it off? How am I supposed to live with this thing devouring my bark, and branches? Some of the campers saw my distress, and panic. They got their equipment, and sprayed a mixture of Chloryphios, "A miracle!" I thought as the bugs ran, and died on my bark. Safe once again I thanked the kind campers, and finally fell asleep. Can't you believe how creepy are these!

If you want one of me in your own backyard you come to the write place. It's helpful to the environment, and to me! First I'd recommend getting a nice soiled place to plant me. Also I don't recommend using a wild aspen tree to plant nursery ones are more successful in your backyard, wild ones are more adapted to there own area. Aspen tree's grow fast, and furious they can get to 70 feet tall! Plant aspens near slopes to the north, and east they get the most rain, and sun! Remember to drain the soil before putting your little me in there, and then you leave it to grow! All informantion from this article comes from here.

Here's a song I wrote about my kind!
Aspen tall, and with might. Fight for shade, and cool all night. Aspen prospers in the spring. When winter comes arround it's branches wave in the wind.

Well you've learned much about me in theese past few minutes, but at every point a story ends, but that story keeps on going as all said in done one question still remains, "How old am I?" Well I think I'm 40, that means I'm pretty young for an aspen, but I have a life a head of me, and hope I can live it with all of you. Goodbye, see you next fall!
