Distance Learning

Hello and welcome to distance learning. Here is a quick guide to what your distance learning day will look like.

Here is a scheduled of your core classes:

8:35-9:55 Language Arts with Mr. Setterholm

10:00-11:20 Math with Ms. Moxness

11:25-12:10 Social Studies with Mr. Setterholm

12:55-1:50 Science With Ms. Moxness

Students will be required to attend class in real time via Google Meet. The Google Meet links for my classes (math and science) can be found in Google Classroom or in the student's calendar. We use the same links each day. Math Google Meets are 50 -90 minutes long. Science Google Meets are 25-50 minutes long. There may be days where we are working on a project or a worksheet and the majority of the time will be individual work. On these days I will meet with distance learners for 5-10 minutes to give special directions. The online programs I use do not work when the students are on a Google Meet. Usually the video call makes the computer slow down. I will always have my Chromebook with me during work time. So if your student has question they can email me and I will either answer with an email or an individual Google Meet. I have encouraged the students to reach out if they have questions. It is very difficult for me to figure out who needs help when the student is not in the classroom.

In math most of the work will be done in the math journal or on the online textbook.

Science will be mostly in Google Classroom and google forms. There may be times when distance learners will be doing different activities as students in class.

If your technology is not working please let me know. If your child misses a class because of technology problems or slow internet no need to worry all lessons are recorded and posted on Google Classroom.
