About Me:

Hello, my name is Tyler Owen, and I am one of the physical education and health teachers at Battle Lake Public School. I am in my second year of teaching, and I will also be coaching the Battle Lake boys basketball team again this year. I am originally from Alexandria, Minnesota, and I am a proud graduate of Alexandria Area High School. Post high school, I played basketball at MSCTC in Fergus Falls, Minnesota for two years while earning an Associate of Arts Degree. After graduating from MSCTC, I transferred to MSUM in Moorhead, Minnesota where I pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. I graduated summa cum laude in the Spring of 2020, and soon after I accepted the position that I am currently in.

In my spare time I enjoy being physically active by playing a wide variety of sports, and I also enjoy hunting, fishing, playing my guitar, and spending time with my family, friends, and girlfriend. I am also a small-group leader for the Bethel Battle Lake youth group, and I like to spend time mentoring young people, and sharing the love of Jesus with them.
