Every year, we build a competitive robot within six weeks.

FRC Robotics is part of the FIRST organization, encompassing thousands of teams and students worldwide! In Rochester, FRC Team 2530 includes students from all three RPS high schools as well as 8th Graders who work directly with adult coaches and mentors.

We offer a wide variety of projects, skills, and hands-on experiences such that virtually ANY student interest is covered in categories such as:

- Competition Robot design, programming, control, operation, and strategy.

- Chairman’s Award essay & video.

- Business aspects (Financials, Purchasing, Project Management, etc.).

- Graphic Arts (designing logos, web sites, Robot visuals, handouts, etc.).

- Leadership of projects, tasks, & research.

- Education (creating & administering).

- Administration of new technology (CAD, 3D Printing, Vision Systems, Motors & Controllers, Shop Tools, etc.).

- Community outreach

The best part for students: no prior experience is needed!

We travel to various nearby locations to compete with other FRC teams in scrimmages and FIRST Regionals.

Also, since “Robotics” is an MSHSL-sanctioned activity, students have the opportunity to both receive a Varsity Letter as well as compete in MN-State sponsored tournaments.

Our Team meets every Tuesday (6-8pm) in the Fall on a web conf. and plan to meet several days per week when the season starts in January. Interested students are welcome to check out our web page (below) for more information.
