What is the goal of the Lincoln K-8 PTSA?
PTSA aims to build an inclusive community where parents, teachers, and administration collaborate to meet the needs of students.
Why is the PTSA important to my child’s education?
The Lincoln K-8 PTSA provides educational experiences for your child by supporting the Lincoln teachers and curriculum with valuable resources for the classroom.
Our PTSA serves as the fundraising mechanism that provides additional resources not available through the Rochester School District budget such as Scholastic books, drones, robotics, 3D printing, and early coding. We also sponsors the purchase of apps for our 1:1 iPad program including: Seesaw, RAZ Kids, IXL, Study Island, and many more.
How is the PTSA different from VIE?
Our PTSA and Volunteers in Education (VIE) are both important and facilitate parent involvement and volunteering in the school. VIE is a community-based program that allows community members to volunteer in RPS schools. Only parents, teachers, and staff are allowed to join the PTSA. We need active members in PTSA to regularly attend meetings and volunteer for school events available to all students in our school.
When did our name change from PPT to PTSA?
On November 20, 2023, membership voted to adopt the name Lincoln K-8 PTSA to adhere to the brand standards of our national and state PTA affiliates. This change was necessary for our organization to maintain compliance and remain as a unit in good standing.
Transition to the title Lincoln K-8 PTSA will occur slowly over the next 6-8 months. We may continue to utilize printed materials with the name Lincoln K-8 PPT while the community gains familiarity with our name and to be fiscally conservative with long-lasting advertising materials.
Meetings are usually every 3rd Monday at 7:00 PM. Find a full list of meeting dates and other events on our Event page!
