Reading/Writing~ This week in writing, we worked on opinion writing.  The kids had to justify their opinions using the word "because."  In reading, we worked on plural endings, building comprehension, and improving our fluency.  

Math~ This week, we continued with our story word problems.  

SEL (Social Emotional Learning)~  Our focus was "Being Assertive".  We discussed how important it is to stand up for yourself and your needs.  We talked about how to ask for what you need in a kind and respectful way.  

Funds for Fun Fundraiser Information is coming home today!  All of the funds go directly to the school to be used for fun activities or things for our kids at Primary.  

Scholastic Book Orders are due Friday,  October 30. ~ It's a great way to build up your child’s book collection at home and help them improve their reading skills. And when you shop with Clubs, your orders earn points I can redeem for books and other classroom supplies we need.

1. Reading: Read every night for 20 minutes

2. Spelling: Practice your new words for the test on Friday! 

3. Math: Practice skip counting this week. Count out loud by 2s, 5s, and 10s. 

4. Fluency:  Read the fluency passage out loud multiple times to increase your speed, accuracy, and expression.
