K-12 Library Media Specialist
As both the technology integrationist and library media specialist for all four buildings in the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Community Schools, I get to work with, and support, students and teachers at all grade levels in every academic area. It is a fascinating job! There are wonderful things happening throughout the district!
Before moving to Plainview-Elgin-Millville, my wife Barb, who is the Reading Specialist at our 4-6 school, and I taught in River Falls, Wisconsin for 27 years. In River Falls, I was a first, second, and fifth grade teacher for 16 years and a library media specialist for 10 years. I also served as the district's first technology integrationist for one year as a teacher on special assignment to instruct teachers in the use of technology in their instruction and to prepare for a one-to-one iPad and Schoology adoption. I hold a bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University in elementary education, a master's degree in professional development from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a master's degree in school library and information sciences from the University of North Texas. Barb and I have three children: Aaron is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and will soon be entering a doctor of physical therapy program at Southwest Missouri Baptist University, Christa is a junior at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and Bethany is a freshman at Minnesota State-Mankato.
