Week 10 (Oct. 15th-21st)

Monday - Pre-Meet/Strides. Practice done by 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday - Metro East Conference Championships at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park. Students get out of class at 12:50, bus leaves at 1:10.

Girls Varsity at 3:00 p.m.

Boys Varsity at 3:35 p.m.

Girls JV at 4:05 p.m.

Boys JV at 4:45 p.m.

Awards at 5:25 p.m.

Return to Simley around 6:30

Wednesday - Recovery run at 3:00 p.m.

Thursday - Recovery run at 9:00 a.m. Done by 10:00 a.m.

Friday - Workout: Lefty Wright Runners - 30/60s; Section Runners - Light Threshold . 9:00 a.m. and done by 10:30 a.m.

Saturday - Recovery run at 9:00 a.m. Meet at Swing Bridge Park. Done at 10:00 a.m.

Week 9 (Oct. 8th-14th)

Monday - 30/60s

Tuesday - Pre-Meet, Strides. Practice done by 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday - Simley Invite. All Simley athletes at the finish line by 2:50 p.m. Girls Varsity at 4:00 p.m., Boys Varsity at 4:20 p.m., Girls JV at 4:40 p.m., and Boys JV at 5:05 p.m. All races are 2 miles.

Thursday - Spartan XC Game #9 Scavenger Hunt

Friday - Easy run, core

Saturday - 60/60s at Simley, 9 a.m.

Week 8 (Oct. 1st-Oct. 7th)

Monday - Pre-Meet, strides

Tuesday - Trinity Invite. Bus leaves at 3:00 p.m. Girls race at 4:30, boys at 5:15. Everyone is running the 5k. Awards at 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday - Recovery run, core. Spartan XC Game

Thursday - Recovery run.

Friday - Mile repeats.

Saturday - Long run at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park, Hastings. Bus leaves Simley at 8:30 a.m., will return around 10:45-11:00 p.m.

Week 7 (Sep. 24th-Sep. 30th)

Monday - Interval 800s

Tuesday - Recovery, core **Practice is at 3:20 today**

Wednesday - Pre-Meet and strides, Spartan XC Game #7

Thursday - Osseo Invite at Elm Creek Park, Maple Grove. Get out of class at 1:20, bus leaves at 1:40. Girls JV 5k at 4:00, Girls Varsity 5k at 4:35, Boys Varsity 5k at 5:05, Boys JV 5k at 5:30, Coed Jr. High 2500 meters at 6:00

Friday - Recovery, core

Saturday - 60/60's at Simley, practice at 9:00 a.m.

Week 6 (Sep. 17-24th)

Monday - Hills at Oakwood or 60/60s if rain

Tuesday - Recovery run, core

Wednesday - Pre-Meet and strides

Thursday - Pine Island Invite - Leave class at 1:35 (End of 6th hour)

Friday - Recovery run, core

Saturday - 10:00 a.m. (This is different from previous weeks) Long run at Lebanon Hills.

Week 5 (Sep. 10th -Sep. 16th)

Monday - Threshold Intervals at The Grove

Tuesday - Recovery run, core

Wednesday, Spartan XC Game #5, Pre-Race run and strides

Thursday - Rochester Mayo Invite at Eastwood Golf Course. Students get out of class at 12:55 and leave Simley at 1:15.

Race assignments:

    • Boys and Girls Combined C Race at 3:40 (2500 meters or just over 1.5 miles, genders run at the same time)

Saturday - Long run at Lebanon Hills at 9 a.m. Meet at Schulze Lake Beach. Practice will be over between 10:15-10:30 a.m.

Sunday - Harmon Farms Trail Run Volunteering from 7 a.m. to 10:30/11:00 a.m.

Week 4 (Sep. 3rd- Sep 9th)

Monday, Labor Day - On your own

Tuesday *Practices start at 3!* - Mile Repeats

Wednesday - Recovery, core

Thursday - Recovery run, Spartan XC Game #5

Friday - Long run at Simley

Saturday - Morning practice at 8:00 a.m. at Simley. Practice will be over by 8:45. Cub Foods Bagging during IGH Days Parade from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Sunday - Cub Foods Bagging 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Week 3 (Aug. 27th-Sep. 4th)

Monday - Locker and Uniform handouts at 3:30 p.m. Girls should bring $5 for Ms. Walsh. Pre-race and race strategy. Practice over at 5:15.

Tuesday - Packer Invite at Meadow Greens Golf course in Austin, MN. Bus leaves Simley at 1:40 and first race at 4:30.

  • Mixed Gender 4000 Meters at 4:30.
  • Girls 5000 Meters at 5:00.
  • Boys 5000 Meters at 5:30.
  • Mixed Gender 2500 Meters at 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday & Thursday - Practice from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday will include Spartan XC Game #4. Thursday is hills.

Friday - Practice at 3:00 p.m. at Lebanon Hills. Practice will be over at 4:15-4:30.

Saturday - Monday, 2 easy day runs on your own, one day off. Runs should be between 30-40 minutes in length.

Tuesday, Sep 4th - Practice at 3:00 p.m.

Week 2 (Aug. 20th-26th)

Monday - 800 meter intervals

Tuesday - Recovery run, core

Wednesday - Recovery run, Spartan XC Game #3

Thursday - Tempo Run

Friday - Recovery run, core

Saturday - Long run at Lebanon Hills, 9:00 a.m. at Schulze Lake Beach. Practice will conclude between 10:15 to 10:30

Sunday - Off

Week 1 (August 13th-19th)

Monday - Introductions, easy run. Mandatory athletes meeting from 5:00-5:30 at Simley's PAC

Tuesday - Threshold intervals at the Grove - 2-6x times with 3 minutes rest.

Wednesday - Easy run and core; Spartan XC Game #1

Thursday - 60/60s Workout - 6-12x times.

Friday - Race strategy, 20 minutes and strides. Practice will be over at 5:15.

Saturday - Team Intrasquad Timetrial on the Simley High School trails. Race is at 4:00, meet at the Concession Stand at 3:00 p.m.

Sunday - Day off.
