The Learning Specialists at Harriet Bishop work with students in grades kindergarten through five who need extra support as they work towards meeting the grade-level standards and also with students who have already met grade-level standards and are ready for advanced learning opportunities.

The elementary learning specialists' goals are:

  • To help meet individual students' academic needs
  • To challenge students to take academic risks in a safe environment
  • To encourage students further in their learning
  • To equip teachers to meet the needs of students in their classrooms
