About Us
Burnsville Nordic skiing is a fun and exciting program that offers BHS middle and high school students the opportunity to participate in an all around great sports! Burnsville has a strong tradition of building passionate teams, from the coaches down to the athletes. Our teams have a history of being competitive in our conference (the South Suburban Conference), Section (Section 3) and the State. Whether your a first year skier with no experience or one of our seasoned, state bound athletes, you are sure to have a blast being a member of this team!
Every athlete on this team will be taught how to ski using the two types of techniques: Classic (or traditional) and Skate (or freestyle). We practice Monday - Saturday in ALL weather conditions... but we always hope for snow! Practice typically begins at BHS where we stay to workout or carpool to an alternative practice location. Once we have a sufficient amount of snow we will practice at Terrace Oaks East or West.

Big things to know:
Nordic skiing is a no cut sport. All team members practice and race. What's not to love about that!
Weekly emails will be sent out with the practice schedule and location. Receiving these emails is essential for all athletes and families. Email gabrielle.ayers0326@gmail.com to be added to the email list.
We practice in a variety of locations. All athletes are responsible for organizing rides to and from practice locations. Start and finishing times/locations will be communicated each week. Please note these details and plan accordingly.
It's cold in the winter. I know! Take pride in coming to practice PREPARED. It's easier to shed layers than make them magically appear, plus being cold just wastes energy.

I was an assistant coach from 2017-2020. I have been the head coach since 2020 and this year will be my second year in this position with the team. My goal is to help our athletes develop life skills while participating in the best sport the winter season has to offer.
