The Iris Award
is a reading collaboration program between international Schools since 2016
We welcome any school interested in joining our collaborative effort.

WHAT IS THE IRIS AWARD?
A committee of librarians selects shortlisted titles in June.
There are 4 English language categories
Picture Books (12 titles)
ES Chapter Books (12 titles)
Middle School (12 titles)
High School/Adult (6 titles)
In addition there are the following home language categories
Dutch Language Picture Books
French Language Picture Books
German Language Picture Books
German Language Chapter Books
Students in over 20 participating schools read books throughout the school year.
In May they vote for their favorite books. All student votes are added up and the Award in each category goes to the book with most votes. Winners are announced the first week of June.
The Iris Award Bookbowl is an accompanying quiz program where students organize themselves in teams to ultimately compete with teams from other particpating schools at the yearly IRIS Award Interschool Bookbowl Final
