Formative assessments are opportunities for students to receive feedback on progress towards their learning goals. They can be anything from formal quizzes to a informal checks for understanding. In a Learning Focused lesson, your assessment prompts are your purposefully planned formative checks to check student progress towards answering your essential question.

PearDeck is an interactive presentation tool. Teachers embed interactive questions in Google Slides and track student responses in real time.

Basic Assignment:
Students submit work by either clicking "submit assignment" and typing in the tab that says "create," or by attaching or importing an existing document

The teacher attaches a copy of a Google Doc, Slides, or Sheet

From Schoology, teachers can view students' work while they are still in progress. This allows teachers to provide feedback before students submit.
Teachers can score Google Assignments on Schoology without needing to open the documents from their Google Drive

The teacher attaches a copy of a Kami document

Test/quizzes and assessments are Schoology's assessment tools that will automatically score questions with correct answers. "Test/quiz" was the original feature on Schoology; "assessment" is the new feature and contains more question types.
