The Middle School has a peer leader program called Warrior 2 Warrior. The students that are part of this student ambassador program have character traits that show leadership. Peer leaders assist new students that enter our building by shadowing the student during their first period class and are paired together during lunch on their first day of school. New students really appreciate the sense of welcomeness that the Warrior 2 Warrior program provides. Each new student receives a Warrior t-shirt, Indian River pencil, and lanyard. On the first Thursday of every month the Warrior 2 Warrior program meets as a large group of approximately 95 students who are selected by teachers. The teacher selects two students, one primary and one alternate. New students are always welcome to participate in the Warrior 2 Warrior program. During the monthly meetings we discuss our monthly character trait. The peer leader then takes their knowledge from the meeting with the provided power point and shares the information with their home base class. The Warriors also contribute to special events in the building during the school year. The Warrior 2 Warrior program has seen lots of positive feedback throughout our school community.
