Google + is a social networking platform that already exists for your Google account. Users can post thoughts, links, pictures, and other information while also reading, connecting, and commenting on peers' posts. Communities and Collections can be created and utilized in order to enhance and transform learning in this collaborative space.

Communities can created in order to provide a page for a select group of Google + users. Community Moderators can decide to make their communities public or private. This is a wonderful way to create a learning space for your classroom. In addition to creating communities, users can join preexisting communities according to their interests.

Group your posts in Google + by topic using Collections. Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all of your interests. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people.

Collections provide a unique way for teachers and students to create a digital portfolio, based on a topic, and share it with others. Users can post thoughts, reflections, an analysis, images, videos, and links to external resources in a Collection. From there, depending on the settings, Collection owners can allow others to view and comment in their Collections.
