SECOND STEP

What is it? The Second Step program is a Tier 1, universal, classroom-based curriculum that teaches foundational social-emotional and self-regulation skills to all students. The Second Step curriculum supports state academic learning standards from grades 6-8.

How? The Second Step program teaches specific skills such as

    • their ability to learn

    • have empathy

    • manage emotions

    • solve problems

Where? Lessons will be taught once a week during Study Skills. Videos and class discussions will engage students and offer strategies for solving problems, identifying goals, and making plans.
