Mr. Sandine

Hello and Welcome Back!

I am Mr. Sandine and I will be your Science/PA Science and/or PA US History teacher this year.  

This is my 16th year of teaching.  I have taught high school Chemistry/Honors, Biology, and Physics/Honors for 7 years in Chicago, where I also served as a High School Science Department chair.  When I moved with my family to Naperville from Chicago, I wanted to try teaching a different age group.  This will be my 9th year of teaching middle school in Naperville and my 7th at Scullen.

I am also the varsity coach for our Science Olympiad team.  Last year, we placed first placed at Illinois Regionals.  Science Olympiad prepares students to problem solve and work together in teams across nearly all science disciplines.  Participants become very well-versed in Science and Engineering Practices.  If interested, the application and tryout process typically begins in early October.

I look forward to the new school year and am very excited to get to know each and every one of you through our journey in the next few months.  Please feel free to ask any questions and address concerns, as communication and hard work always lead to success in our classroom.
