This is not your usual market. It is built around reuse, practicality, community connection, and giving good things a second, third, or even fourth life. It is a place for surplus produce, secondhand goods, repaired items, recycled finds, repurposed treasures, and well-made upcycled pieces. It is about passing things on, reducing waste, and making it easier for people to buy, sell, and swap locally.
If you have ever thought, “I should really do a garage sale one day,” this is a much easier option.
Instead of advertising your home, waiting around all day, dealing with no-shows, or going back and forth online with endless messages, you can book a stand, bring your items, set up your space, and let people come to you in a friendly market atmosphere.
I’m really keen to get more local crafters, makers and upcyclers involved in the Community Marketplace.
We’ve made it through winter, learnt a lot, and the market is starting to build some real momentum. Now we’re heading into the warmer months; it feels like the right time to give it another good push.
