What is the Odyssey project?
The aim of the Odyssey Project is to promote kindness and awareness of disability in sport. This will take place throughout schools and the like such as clubs that would like to take part in this programme.
We hope by spreading kindness and raising awareness of disabilities it will encourage children to participate in acts of kindness and show kindness towards others.
In all sport there is a certain requirement of an amount of respect and kindness towards others. We hope this will emphasise this.
We hope to build awareness of the emergency services in their communities and establish relationships with these services.
We will aim to fundraise towards the Intrepid Games Foundation and to increase the awareness of disability clubs that are already in existence throughout our communities.
Criteria -
To Visit a disability club in their communities and learn about the sport of the chosen club. (Must be accompanied by an adult)
To raise funds towards the Intrepid Games foundation (Minimum per child £30) This will go a long way in assisting the intrepid games to take place yearly for emergency services. It will also teach children about fundraising.
To carry out a certain amount of acts of kindness to achieve their goal. Each child will choose which challenge they will take up -
30 acts of kindness - To receive a challenge coin
50 acts of kindness - To receive a Medal
An Odyssey is a group of Phoenix, taken from our logo! Odyssey also means to go on an adventure! So let’s go on an adventure of Kindness together. To bring Hope like the phoenix represents to others.
