IST teachers are strong Christians who walk in a close, personal relationship with Christ with a faithful testimony and witness. Their ministry is in the classroom nurturing students' spiritual, emotional, social, physical and intellectual development. IST teachers are life-long learners who strive to use best practices in the classroom for excellence and are role-models for students in speech and action. They are ready in and out of season to share the message of salvation with students.

1. Prays and reads the Bible daily,  seeking to grow in a personal relationship with Christ.

2. Attends and actively participates in a Christcentered Church.

3. Lives a life that is an excellent Christian testimony.

4. Interacts with coworkers, supervisors, parents and students in a biblical way as outlined in Matthew 18.

1. Holds a special education teaching degree from an accredited university.

2. Knowledge of basic teaching technologies including online teaching.

3. Willingness to continue growing professionally and seek higher levels of education.

4. Willingness to coach and/or lead extra curricular clubs and activities.

5. Prior teaching experience is valued.

6. Masters degree in teaching is valued. 

1. Prepare and teach the grade level or subject area contracted with excellence.

2. Integrate Biblical applications in teaching daily.

3. Support student learning on both an individual and group basis with both pull out and push in support.

4. Provide students with diagnostic evaluations and support to support their learning based on their individual needs.

5. Communicate student progress in a timely manner using the IST software platform for grades.

6. Maintain open and clear communication with students, parents and administration about student progress and learning.
