The following benefits will be seen by configuring your network with a Discovery/Cache device:
The discovery device can scan your network for unprotected computers and allow installation/reinstallation of agents remotely.
The cache device will provide a local store of Panda definition and application updates, minimising internet bandwidth usage.
Procedure
Login to your school's Panda account here with your intermit@ address - https://www.pandacloudsecurity.com/PandaLogin.
Select Settings from the top tab > Network services from the left menu.
For Cache > select the Cache tab in the main window > select Add cache computer > search for and select K9Server (or other server) > select the C drive > Add.Â
For Discovery > select the Discovery tab in the main window > select Add discovery computer > search for and select K9Server (or other server).
Before proceeding, please ensure that you have added K9Server (or other server) as a Discovery device - if required, follow the instructions Configuring your network with a Panda Discovery/Cache device.
Procedure
Login to your school's Panda account here with your intermit@ address - https://www.pandacloudsecurity.com/PandaLogin.
While on the Status page > in the left menu, select Add next to My Lists > select Unmanaged computers discovered > select the green Launch query button.
Tick any devices where the agent is to be installed > select Install Panda agent from the top of the main window.
Leave the settings as standard apart from:
User SystemAdmin (or other Domain Administrator)
Password <account password>
Select Install.
To update your MDT task sequence to deploy the new Aether Panda agent.
On K9Server, login to the school's Panda console using the school's intermit@ (or av@ email address). Contact Mark Whitman if you do not have credentials to this account.
If you have the option of Endpoint Protection or Endpoint Protection (traditional console), select Endpoint Protection.
Select the Computers tab at the top of the screen > select the Add computers button on the right > select Windows > Download installer > save the MSI into D:\Interm IT\Interm AV (if the folder does not exist, create this now).
In D:\Interm IT\Interm AV, If the older WAAgent.MSI is present, delete this now.
Copy D:\Interm IT\Interm AV\Panda Endpoint Agent.msi to D:\K9DeploymentShare\Applications\Interm AV
Open Deployment Workbench and navigate to K9 Deployment Share > Applications > Interm AV
In the Details tab, edit the Quiet install command to:
msiexec /i "Panda Endpoint Agent.msi" /q
Then select OK.
All rebuilds from now will deploy the new Aether agent.
Procedure
Login to your school's Panda account here with your intermit@ address - https://www.pandacloudsecurity.com/PandaLogin.
While on the Status page > in the left menu, select Add next to My Lists > select Computers with duplicate name > select the green Launch query button.
Tick all devices in the list (it will not remove the most recent and active agents) > select Delete from the top of the main window > Delete.
If Panda is falsely detecting software as being a threat, you can request this to be whitelisted by performing the following:
Copy the file to be whitelisted to a known location on a computer (e.g. C:\Temp).
Open a PowerShell window and enter the following:
Get-FileHash -Algorithm MD5 -path C:\Temp\File.exe
Send an email to Mark Whitman using the following template:

Subject: Panda False Positive Request
Dear Mark,
Please can you whitelist the following file - thank you!
Application Name: (e.g. Sharp OneStop Agent)

Symptoms:
After rebooting a VM, the server OS hangs at the spinning white wheel for up to 20 minutes before loading into the OS normally.
Fix:
Install this patch on the VM to resolve the issue with the hanging service.
Note: the patch has now been updated to support 8.00.21.x and 8.00.22.x versions of the Panda client.
To add a licence to a unprotected computer, follow these instructions you must have:
Spare licences available to assign (send a quote using this template if you require more licences)
Access to the school's Panda Console (request access from Mark Whitman)
Login to the console.
In the Protection Status pane, under the number of computer, click No Licence.
Select a computer from the list.
Under Licences, click the blue + icon to add a licence.
Click Back at the top, then repeat from step 3 for each computer that needs a licence.
