To close the Erasmus cooperation project with Serbia (Belgrade), Turkey (Ankara) and Italy (Catania, Sicily), we have carried out a 6-day mobility for 6 students and 2 teachers .
On the first day ,the train picked us up at 8:30, we went to Barcelona, where we left for the airport, and from there to Istanbul,. We were in Istanbul for a couple of hours where we finally made the last stop to Ankara where we met our colleagues from Serbia and went by bus to the hotel.
On the second day there, after making the presentations with the Italian boys, we went to the school all together, where the Turkish Erasmus students were waiting for us. First, they showed us the school, which was really big and with quite a lot of different tall buildings. We arrived at the conference room where we presented our videos from each country and after they did some typical dances from there and played some music. We also made a break where they gave us typical Turkish food that was really tasty. We ended the welcoming event dancing all together, a typical Turkish dance. After spending the whole morning in the school we went to a Doner with Serbian and Italian students where we ate the traditional food from there, the doner, that was delicious. It’s beef with a kind of bread, lettuce and other types of vegetables.
In the afternoon we went first went to visit the mosque, but we just took photos from outside, because we didn't have enough time to go inside. After that, we took the bus and went to the museum Anatòlia. It is an archaeological museum and there were all type of antic things such as statues. When we finished visiting the museum, we went to the Ankara keyless and went to the castle, and we finished the day eating "pide" for dinner.
TUESDAY MORNING
We started the day by going to school to attend classes. We made some groups, mixing Italian, Spanish and Serbian students. My first class was literature, where we read a poem and talked about it. Afterwards, I went to maths class followed by computer class. After all the classes, we went to have lunch in the dining room, and we could try some typical Turkish dishes such as baklava. Once we finished eating we went to our the last class which was physical education, where we played very fun games.
Apart from that, the moment we arrived in the square me and all my mates said “wow” because it was beautiful.
When we entered the large building, there was the grave of Ataturk. Then we entered his museum, there were a lot of paintings of him and the history of Ankara.
After that, we went to a shopping center. We didn’t do a lot of things, just went around the shops.
But when it was dinner time we went to eat something at McDonald’s.
And finally, we took another time the bus and we went to the hotel to prepare us for the next day in Kapadokya.
In the afternoon, Spanish, Italian and Serbian people went to Ataturk Mausoleo. It's like a museum about a special person for the Turkish people, His name was Mustafà Kemal Atarurk and he created the country of Turkey in 1923 and made big changes to separate religion from the government. He improved laws, education, women’s rights, and helped modernize the economy.
The place was spectacular. In the entrance there were big statues and a large path. While we were walking there suddenly a rare sound began to sound and all the people that were around me were still.
It all started on the night of October 9th at 00.15 when a bus picked us up in the direction of Cappadocia. When we arrived we saw the sunrise where we could see the balloons, then we went to the swinging bridge where we had breakfast, we also took a walk around the area.
Another activity worth mentioning was the tour of the valley of the monks and the valley of the pigeons. From here we went to have lunch at a buffet, where after eating we went to a castle, and also to a very interesting city since it was underground. To end the day we went to the salt lake, where we had dinner and to finish we returned to the hotel.
Later, all of us Erasmus participants - Serbians, Italians, Turks, and Spaniards - went together to Lake Mogan. We went walking around it, and played in a park all together.
Afterwards, we walked to a restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal of lentil soup and beef with yogurt. And for dessert we ate baklava, a typical Turkish sweet made with pistachio and puff pastry among other ingredients. To end the day, we visited a lively street filled with shops, where we bought souvenirs in a great atmosphere.
When we arrived at the hotel, as it was the last night, we stayed quite a lot of time in the Lobby all the students together playing uno and talking until we went to sleep. We had to say goodbye to all of them because the next day we were leaving earlier than them.
This was the last day in Turkey,. We woke up and then we took a bus to go to the airport. First, we stayed there for 3h waiting for the Ankara-Istanbul plane, in those hours we were playing a game and it was very funny.
We arrived very fast in Istanbul Airport, and we took the plane fast too. The return trip to Barcelona was longer than the Ankara-Istanbul, and I think all the people were a little bit bored there.
Finally, when we arrived in Barcelona, our parents were there to take us home.
In conclusion,I think this trip was fantastic and the best part was meeting other people from different countries.
