Arrival
On Monday we arrived to Düseldorf at 8 p.m. and we met up with our families.
We choose different subjects in school. I choose biology, English, chemistry, maths, swimming, P.E. and Spanish.
The school was organized by grades. We were in the 11th grade. Each student had a schedule for their classes, but there were differences between Spain and other countries because students were not always in the same classroom. They switched classes almost every hour and weren't always with the same colleagues.
Also, the thing that surprised me the most was that there were 15-20 students per class. The classes were more practical and students were able to participate more than if there were 30 students per class.
We went to Köln with my family and we visited the Kölner Dom
We also walk through the streets and everything was ready for Christmas.
We went to the chocolate museum of Köln. It was delicious!
We went to paint ceramics.
We visited Benrath Schloss on the weekend.
In the afternoon we went to the Christmas market in Düsseldorf.
And we tried many different typical food from German Christmas markets.
We also saw the city at night with the Christmas lights.
We went to Benrads Christmas Market.
And it also snowed!!
We went to a film museum in Düseldorf.
And it was really interesting!
A part of the filmmaking exposition can be viewed in this video.
I also had the opportunity to go to the Rheinturm.
From 172 meters up, I was able to see all the city views.
We went to Stiftung Schloss Dyck along with my family.
There was also a Christmas market there.
With the school, we visited the Cologne Cathedral and this is the view from the top of it.
Although we were not allowed to take pictures of the Cathedral from the top, the visit was fascinating and the views were breathtaking.
My collegue and I did a presentation about our town city, Tarragona to the spanish students from Germany. They were surprised as they didn't think that Tarragona was such and interesting and historical city.
The Neardental museum was a must-see before leaving.
As a student of batxillerat, I do recommend this experience as I find it a really interesting and maturing experience. It makes you grow as a person and also learn about many different topics. Everyone should be able to experience this at least once in a life time.
