Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been wonderful to enjoy some beautiful, warm weather over the last few days, which has certainly put everyone in a fantastic mood for the weekend ahead.
Speaking of the weekend, a reminder that our brilliant PTA Wild Westival Fair is taking place tomorrow from 2pm to 5pm! We cannot wait to see you all there for an afternoon of fun, games, and community spirit. Thank you in advance to our amazing PTA for putting this together.
Outstanding Learning This Week
Our pupils have continued to work incredibly hard across all year groups.
Year R
The children have been exploring maths by looking at number patterns up to 20, whilst also practising their writing by building simple sentences.
Year 1
Pupils have been mastering time concepts by learning all about the days of the week, alongside exploring the creative world of poetry with a focus on using alliteration.
Year 2
Pupils have been tackling tricky additions by exchanging in maths and have also been enjoying delving into poetry in their English sessions.
Year 3
In maths, pupils have been exploring geometry by looking at 2D shapes and identifying parallel and perpendicular lines, whilst using their creative talents to write narratives in English.
Year 4
Pupils have been focusing on time in maths and have shown great maturity while participating in valuable mental health workshops.
Year 5
The pupils have been extending their maths knowledge into negative numbers, and they have also been busy writing their application letters for next year's leadership roles, including Head Boy, Head Girl, and Prefects.
Year 6
Pupils have been learning about the human body by looking at the impact of diet and exercise, all whilst putting the finishing touches on their rehearsals as they get ready for their big production next week!

Emily's Garden: A Beautiful Space for Reflection
A massive thank you goes out to Mrs. Eden and our wonderful group of pupils who have been working so hard to maintain Emily’s Garden. Thanks to their dedication and green thumbs, the garden is looking absolutely beautiful and remains a fitting, vibrant tribute in memory of our former pupil. We are incredibly grateful for your time and care.
As a reminder to our school community, Emily’s Garden is designed to be a quiet, reflective space for everyone to enjoy.
With the plants and flowers blooming, we kindly ask parents and carers to ensure that younger children do not walk or step on the flower beds during drop-off and pick-up times. Help us keep this special area looking its best and protect the hard work of our gardening team!

At Maundene, we deeply value the strong partnership we have with our parents and carers, and we always want to work together to support our children. To maintain a safe and positive environment for everyone, we kindly remind all visitors that our staff must be spoken to with respect. Abusive or aggressive language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring our school remains a safe, welcoming space for the entire community.
Important Notice: End-of-Day Dismissal Safety
Important Notice: End-of-Day Dismissal Safety
To ensure the safety and security of all our children at the end of the school day, we kindly ask that parents and carers stand back and keep the area around the classroom doors clear.
When large crowds gather too close to the exits, it makes it very difficult for teachers to see faces clearly and safely dismiss each child to their designated adult.
Additionally, if you need to speak to your child’s teacher at the end of the day, please wait until all children have been safely dismissed first. This allows teachers to give the dismissal process their full concentration, and ensures they can give you their undivided attention once all children are safe.

Megan in Swans. Megan earned her karate badge by successfully completing a series of challenges that demonstrated the core values of karate. Throughout the tasks, she showed integrity, respect, self-discipline, courtesy, self-control, and perseverance, giving her best effort every step of the way.
