Dear Families,
Welcome back to Foxfield after a refreshing half-term break! We hope you all had a wonderful time. It's been a busy first week back, with lots of exciting learning happening across the school. The children have started reading their new texts in English and this half term we will see the culmination of the children’s Spring Global Outcomes including art galleries, a community get together and a lobbying campaign.
We're already very excited for World Book Day on Thursday 6th March 2025! This year's theme, "Read Your Way," celebrates the joy of reading and the importance of choice. This special day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the joy and magic of reading. To make it even more fun and engaging for the children, we invite them to come to school dressed as their favourite characters from books they love! In the spirit of creativity and sustainability, we encourage you to consider recycling or making costumes from items you already have at home rather than purchasing new ones. A homemade costume not only sparks creativity but also supports our commitment to being environmentally friendly. Whether it’s transforming an old t-shirt into a cape or repurposing a cardboard box into a book-inspired prop, the possibilities are endless and can be a wonderful bonding activity! Before the half term break, you will have received a letter linked to World Book Day detailing further information and the competitions! Do take a look.
Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors have been busy making a difference! They led a powerful assembly on our Playground Charter, linking it to the UN articles and conventions and sharing what both the children and adults rights and responsibilities are on our playground. They also held a productive workshop with Chartwells, providing feedback on the new menu and ways to enhance our lunchtime experience. It has been a busy time for them!
We are also busy planning some fun Foxfield activities before the Easter break. Do look out for the letter coming your way next week!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
With very best wishes, Megan Minnett, Tatum Sharp and all of the Foxfield team
