Delce news from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers

As we approach the end of another term here at Delce, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our families for their support and commitment to our school community.

It's a moment to pause and reflect on the multitude of experiences and achievements that have enriched the lives of our children. From the bustling creativity of our afterschool clubs to the exhilarating sports matches led by Mr. Minlah, our children have embraced every opportunity for growth and discovery.

We've been privileged to welcome inspiring visitors who've contributed immensely to our children's learning journey. Events organised by Friends of Delce have added a delightful flair to our term, with highlights including the MANGO festivities and the joyous Easter Egg Treasure Hunt, enjoyed by children and parents alike.

Music has echoed through our halls each week, enriching the lives of our children through regular sessions that nurture their creativity and appreciation for the arts. Educational excursions have broadened their horizons and fostered a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our partnership with Chartwells has furthered our commitment to promoting healthy habits, with engaging discussions on nutrition and exposure to diverse culinary delights from around the globe.

Whole school and class assemblies have provided invaluable platforms for showcasing talents, sharing learning experiences, and engaging in crucial conversations about diversity and inclusion. The invaluable support of PCSO Rowan in educating our children on the power of words underscores our dedication to fostering responsible citizenship and positive behaviour among our children.

Parental involvement has been actively encouraged through informative workshops, covering topics such as SATs preparation and Triple P sessions aimed at supporting child development and parenting skills.

Our Junior Leadership Team (JLT) has been a beacon of leadership, spearheading initiatives such as the Read-a-Thon and the Caught Being Kind campaign, embodying the spirit of compassion and responsibility.

As we prepare to bid farewell to this term, let us carry forward the memories of these enriching experiences and celebrate the growth and achievements of every child in our school community.

Now, as the holiday break approaches, I wish each and every one of our families a time of joy, relaxation, and precious moments spent together. Whether you're embarking on adventures or enjoying quiet moments at home, may this break be filled with laughter, love, and rejuvenation.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and care of your children. We look forward to welcoming them back refreshed and ready for another term of learning and growth.

Wishing you all a happy break and a wonderful holiday.

Miss Stevens

'At Delce We Do Belong'

Our Core Value this term: PERSEVERANCE

Whispers of Wonder: Embracing New Beginnings

In a world of wonder, young and bright,

Where dreams take flight, in morning light,

There blooms a tale of brand new starts,

Of courage found in tender hearts.

With every dawn, a chance to rise,

To paint the skies with endless tries,

For in each beginning, there's a spark,

A flame of hope in the darkest dark.

When paths are steep, and fears surround,

Remember, dear ones, you are bound,

To reach beyond, to strive, to soar,

To find the treasures worth fighting for.

Like seeds that push through hardened ground,

Or rainbows after storms profound,

You too can weather winds that roar,

And find the light on distant shores.

So hold your dreams, both big and small,

Let passion lead, and doubts forestall,

For in the journey, you will find,

The strength within, the joy refined.

Embrace each step, with faith unbroken,

For in persistence lies the token,

Of triumph gained, of lessons learnt,

In every twist, in every turn.

So children dear, with eyes aglow,

Embrace the new, let your spirit grow,

For in beginnings, magic lies,

And perseverance paints the skies.

To promote our core value of PERSEVERANCE, we would like to invite our Delce family to read a story together at home.

This week’s recommendation is: Swing of Change

New York 30's : Harry, a barber, has some prejudiced views.  These seem to change due to the magic of music.

PUPIL LEADERSHIP

📊📚 JLT Update: Read-a-Thon Competition 📚📊

The JLT members were thrilled by the enthusiasm shown by their peers. However, they recognised that some children may need more time to participate fully and have a chance to win the prize for their class. Therefore, it was decided to extend the competition into the next half term, giving all children a bigger chance of winning.

Mr Palmer's Top Tip this week!

Does your child struggle and become anxious or frustrated during the holidays? Try to create a routine, you could even write this down, to ensure your child knows what is happening and when. If you have lots of events happening, you could put these all on a calendar and tick the events off through the holidays.
