Delce news from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers
It's been an eventful week at Delce, filled with memorable moments and noteworthy achievements.
The recent Darwin Class Assembly at Delce was an absolute hit, showcasing the incredible talent and enthusiasm of our children. The children delivered an outstanding performance, leaving the audience in awe of their creativity and confidence.
Our commitment to providing a well-rounded education is evident in the flourishing extracurricular activities at Delce. From captivating art sessions to melodious music lessons and exhilarating sports practices, our children are exploring their passions beyond the classroom. We believe in nurturing the holistic development of each child, fostering a love for learning that extends far beyond textbooks.
During lunchtime, the children have been enjoying the perks of new equipment, adding an extra element of joy to their break. The laughter and camaraderie during these moments create a vibrant and positive atmosphere that resonates throughout the school.
We're excited to share that next week, we will actively participate in Anti-Bullying Week, fostering a culture of kindness, understanding, and empathy among our children. Let's join hands in promoting a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Additionally, on Monday next week, individual photos and sibling photos will be taken. We kindly ask that the children wear their uniforms for these photographs. It's a wonderful opportunity to capture the unique spirit of our school community.
Looking ahead to next Friday, we invite all children to wear something spotty in support of "Children in Need." Let's come together to make a difference and show our commitment to helping those in need.
For a visual glimpse into the vibrant happenings at Delce, be sure to check out our X page, where we've shared captivating photos capturing the essence of our dynamic learning environment. Your support and engagement with our school community mean the world to us, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you soon.
Have a happy and safe weekend!
Miss Stevens

Our learning this week
Inventors
This week, Inventors created their own floor mats for the BeeBots, drawing on their knowledge of habitats. We then created programmes, asking our peers to predict where they would end up.
Year 3
This week in Year 3, the children have completed a litter-pick with a link to our English learning about making a sustainable change. They thoroughly enjoyed being an agent for change.
Year 4
Year 4 have worked hard at adding and subtracting this week. We have overcome the challenge of exchanging 1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s when the total of a column is greater than 9 or when we need to subtract a greater number from a smaller number. In English, we have started to learn about historical recounts. We can't wait to write our own recounts next week.
Year 5
We are delighted to share the hard work of our Year 5 pupils! Recently, they have been learning about common multiples and factors with enthusiasm and determination. They have not only expanded their mathematical knowledge but also challenged themselves.
Year 6
This week, Darwin had their class assembly. The children worked extremely hard in preparation for their assembly, collating their learning ready to present to parents/ carers and their Year 6 peers. As well as presenting their learning journey, the children also made reference to Remembrance Day, exploring the significance of this annual event. We are very proud of the children's efforts.
DEC
Adams class have been following a recipe to bake cup cakes as part of our life skills lesson. DEC children have worked really hard this week on their swimming and are building confidence daily. Well done DEC!
Pupil Voice Matters!
JLT
This week, JLT stood united during the whole school assembly to introduce our new core value: Kindness; emphasising the transformative power of compassion and friendship. The dazzled everyone with their performance and acting skills.
We also commemorated the Remembrance Day by selling poppies. These small but meaningful symbols serve as a reminder of sacrifices made, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding within our school community.
